Thomas Hand Period Furniture

About Thomas Hand

Tom in his Workshop My name is Tom Hand and I build furniture in the colonial styles. Specifically, I have been making reproductions of Queen Anne and Federal Period furniture for over 30 years. I take pride in building each piece to be historically faithful to the period. You can find my furniture in local area homes, the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen shops and in juried shows such as Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth NH.

For me, making a piece of furniture is more than creating something to sell. Buying a piece of furniture that you will likely pass from generation to generation should evoke the same level of interest that the purchase of any piece of fine art would.

The process of selecting and buying a piece of furniture from me should be much more of a hands-on experience than just simply writing a check. I would like to involve you right from the start and welcome you to view its progress.

Again, I thank you for taking the time to review my website. I have included a full gallery of my work as well as some photos of my workshop, which is located just behind my home in Rye, NH. Should you be interested in learning more about a particular piece (or something that you don't see here), I encourage you to contact me directly at my shop at 603-436-2363.
