Chippendale Low Boy

Chippendale Low Boy The low boy was a piece generally used as storage for utensils and articles that graced the dining areas of elegant colonial homes. With its several drawers, all types of things could be kept for easy access by its owner.

Many examples of this piece can be found and some had a larger chest of drawers added to the top. These were typically used in bedrooms for storage of items of clothing. The mid 18th century was probably the construction time of this piece.
