Grandfather's Clock
Nearly all colonial homes of affluence or wealth had a tall clock as part of its furnishings inventory. These were produced in many styles and ranged from plain in appearance to extremely ornate, thus lending themselves to all personal tastes.
This piece has a graceful bonnet top with swan's necks and rosettes above turned columns in the hood. The waist section has a glass door to display the beautiful brass pendulum and chime tubes which attract everyone's attention. The base has a beautiful pigmented mahogany face and bracket feet that add elegance and appeal.
