Queen Anne Tea Table

Entertaining in the colonial home was a very important activity, as people had to rely on each other for most of their daily needs. With personal interaction being so important, furnishings needed to be built to facilitate it.

The Tea Table usually sat between two or more chairs, where a group could converse and enjoy a beverage or light snack. The top had the appearance of being a serving tray sitting on top of a frame on cabriole legs. The top is fixed however, but is embellished with carved corners that add interest.

Candle slides pull out from the ends of the table where candlesticks can be supported and not take up space on the top. This is a classic piece that was found in most well appointed homes and will add elegance to any part of the home in which it is used today.
