Slant Top Desk
This elegant desk was the combination of a colonial desk box, which was used for storage of stationary supplies, and a table. Many of these desks were built in southeastern New England for shipment out of Newport, R.I. to the southern colonies and West Indies in the late 18th century. This desk is a country-style piece and was probably produced between 1740 and the end of the 18th century.
