Welsh Dresser
The Welsh Dresser – or hutch as we may call it today – was used as storage for dishes and serving pieces in colonial homes. Its lack of ornamentation doesn't take away from its appeal as a focal point in any dining area. The origin of this piece is probably English, perhaps in the mid 17th century. Many different examples of the "dresser" can be found and they were made from any wood species availalbe, from pine to oak.
